School Breakfast Matters
In Queensland, 1 in 5 children live in a food insecure household, and 18% of school children arrive at school each week without having breakfast.[1] Our local Brekky Club provides not only the most important meal of the day, but a place of community, connection and being known, seen and valued - really starting their day off right.
Our volunteers
A familiar sight around our local state school, the Brekky Club volunteers are approachable and easily recognisable by the “yellow shirts” they wear. Children, families and staff feel safe and comfortable with this team, providing not only food, but a listening ear.
