  • Building Strong Foundations | Part 1

    This session starts the discussion about the role of the family, and the four main purposes of a family in the life of a child

  • Building Strong Foundations | Part 2

    This session focuses on creating and establishing patterns for a health family life together, now and into the future.

  • Meeting Our Childrens' Needs | Part 1

    Every child deserves to feel unconditionally loved by their family. In this session we begin to discuss our emotional tanks, and explore two of the Five Love Languages: words & touch. We also address some of the challenges we as parents may feel in expressing our feelings of love towards our children.

  • Meeting Our Childrens' Needs | Part 2

    In this session, we explore the final three Love Languages: time, gifts and actions and how we can utilise these to fill our children's emotional tanks. We also discuss strategies for teaching our child to express these love languages to those around us in a healthy way that will influence their emotional wellbeing and relational success throughout their life.

  • Setting Boundaries | Part 1

    Boundaries are so important to the development of our child and for the health and wellbeing of the child and the family. But how do we set boundaries? This session explores the why, where and how of setting loving and firm boundaries for the benefit of our children and ourselves.

  • Setting Boundaries | Part 2

    One of the most important roles that healthy boundaries plays in our child’s life is it helps them to make good choices. This is a skill that is essential through out their life. This session explores helping our children make good choices through consistency, support, clear boundaries and practical applications.

FAQs

  • Yes! This course is not tailored to only couples. It is tailored to any parent in any parenting arrangement: single, co-parenting, widowed, blended families and couples. The best part is, you will be matched with a mentor parent at your discussion table who will be able to connect with you personally about YOUR unique situation each week.

  • The course is made available free to you, no charge involved.

  • Depending on the needs of the group, a creche may be made available. You can express your need for child care in the registration form and we will endeavour to provide care for those who need it to be able to attend the course.

  • The sessions have been broken up into 6 smaller sessions, to allow for adequate discussion time and time to think about what you’ve heard each week. Each session has about an hour of video and discussion time, coupled with some light refreshments - all up the session will be about 90 minutes.

  • While it is ideal for you to be present for all six sessions, if you have to be absent for some, please still apply and we can provide a catch-up session for you. We don’t want you to miss out.
